Maintenance & Care

Valuable tips for the proper care and maintenance of your golf cart

Maintenance & Care Tips

Increase lifespan and save expensive repairs!

It’s actually quite simple: just like a car, a golf cart requires regular care and maintenance. Especially at the start of the season and when storing the cart for winter, there are some maintenance tips you need to follow. Also, pay attention to proper battery care – which varies according to the battery type. Inform yourself beforehand. We have compiled the most important tips for you in video format as well as in written form.

Golf Cart Cleaning & Maintenance

What you need to consider for general cleaning and maintenance of a cart

Golf Cart Maintenance

Interior Cleaning

  • Remove the Seat Bench: Remove the seat bench for cleaning to avoid moisture damage to electrical components. Do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
  • Cleaning the Seats: Clean the seats regularly with mild soap and a sponge. A soft brush helps with stubborn stains.

Exterior Cleaning

  • Cleaning Agents: Use mild cleaning agents such as car shampoo to avoid scratches or dulling the finish.
  • Cleaning Windshields: Use a microfiber cloth and mild cleaning solution. Glass cleaner can damage plexiglass windshields.

Regular Golf Cart Maintenance

We recommend regular maintenance and inspection of golf carts once a year

AGM Batteries

Maintenance-free lead-acid batteries with a glass fiber mat. Advantages: low self-discharge, high cycle durability, and high performance at low temperatures.

AES Batteries

Designed for long service life and high reliability in cyclic applications. Advantages: robust construction and energy efficiency.

Lithium Batteries

State-of-the-art batteries with high energy density, low weight, and fast charging time. Advantages: long lifespan and low self-discharge.

Prepare Your Golf Carts for Winter

Guidelines for storing golf carts at the end of the season

Proper preparation is a must for anyone who wants to keep their fleet of golf carts in excellent condition over the winter. We have compiled some helpful tips for winterizing electrically powered Club Car vehicles. The recommended storage method requires a permanent power supply during the storage period for golf carts of all battery types (AGM | Lead-Acid | Lithium). The carts should be continuously connected to power throughout the entire storage period – with the main switch turned off. Ideally, the carts should be disconnected and reconnected to power once a week and, if possible, moved briefly.

Golf Carts in Winter Storage

This applies to vehicles with lead-acid batteries: It is recommended to perform battery water treatment two weeks prior to storage in order to ensure a homogeneous acid concentration in the batteries.

  • Check the water levels in each battery cell.
  • If the water levels are insufficient, top up with distilled water.
  • The water level should be above the cell but below the level indicator.

  • Set the Tow/Run switch to the "Tow" position.
  • Clean the battery terminals and ensure the cables are securely attached.

  • Ensure the tires are secured and use a wheel lock, as the parking brake should not be engaged.
  • Keep the bag cover and front windshield open to prevent cracks or mildew.

Warning: This is not our recommended storage method!
